I created this site because a lot of people wanted to know more about my unique style of music! I created a new genre of music, called "EN-SOUL". It is a combination of traditional Japanese singing(Enka) and American Pop music. I also make liberal use of Japanese instruments as well(Koto, Shamisen, etc,). This blend of culture has endless possiblities for those of you wanting to hear something a bit different. I reach back for ideas in American music ranging from the 60's(or even further) up until right now! And the one thing about Japanese Enka is, it never changes. So, I have a lot to work with!
En-Soul is not the only music I do; being a guitarist, I love my ROCK, some of my favorite guitarists being Jimmy Hendrix, Van Halen, Jimmy Page, Neal Schon, Ted Nugent, Peter Frampton, just to name a few.Here's a song that displays my rock influence
And of course R&B/FUNK/URBAN etc., is part of my musical heritage as well. The Isley Brothers, Cameo, EWF etc. are a few of my favorite bands. Check out Kansai Kuukou
RAP is cool too. I did Drake, Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, etc........
Favorite Rock bands include Kansas, Kiss(yea Kiss!)....
I grew up in Gospel Music, I have been playing it professionally since I was around 8 years old. So of course that part of my musical background manefests itself in my songwriting. The Artist I like are just to many to mention.Listen to my version of What a Friend We Have In Jesus
Of course the Blues is my thing too! Gorwing up in Birmingham, Alabama, that was the second genre of music I ever listened to at an early age(Gospel being the first).. So that is definitely a part of my sound. I mixed old school hip hop with the Blues on this tune
I dig country music too! It's all good!!
One more thing, since I live in Japan, I sing in Japanese(and English!), so that is something I know you English speakers out there don't hear everyday!!
